Mum shares epic self-isolation I Will Survive parody – with wine and no loo roll

The coronavirus lockdown in the UK is causing people to get very creative in their homes – as that’s all they can do.

But one mum has been especially creative and made an entire music video parody to Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive.

Parenting blogger Victoria Emes has gone viral on social media after sharing the video, in which she sings about surviving self-isolation with wine, snacks and plenty of gin.

In the video, the mum-of-two can be seen moving through various rooms in her house, wearing a blue metallic leotard and tights.

Her words perfectly capture how most parents around the UK will be feeling right now, dealing with home schooling and spending too much time with their significant other.

She sings: “At first I was afraid, I was petrified, kept thinking how I’d ever live without the world outside, but then I spent so many nights, scoffing crisps and necking wine, I know it’s time to say we’re gonna be just fine.

“And so we’re here, stuck in this room, I don’t know when we’re getting out but no better place to face the doom.

“I should have bought that bag of rice, I should’ve stockpiled more bog roll, if I’d have known for just one second I’d have such a messy hole.

“But I’ve got snacks, plenty of gin, that home school schedule can go straight in the f***ing bin.

She will survive!

“I wanna smash my husband’s face, I wanna wave my kids goodbye, but I won’t crumble, I won’t lay down and die.”

Uploading the video to her Instagram, where she has 129,000 followers, the parent shared a message of support and encouragement to fellow mums in self-isolation.

She said: “I will self isolate. This goes out to all the s**gs in isolation wondering how the f**k you’re going to live through an indefinite number of months stuck indoors with your d**khead family.

“You are not alone. Not going to lie, it’s going to be tough because let’s face it – partners can be utter p***ks and kids, well, they’re the biggest w****rs of them all. But babes, we can f**king do this.
